ABOUT US
Colin and Alex are originally from England. We moved to Australia in January 2004 after Colin was offered a
job at Ford of Australia. Amber and Archie are Australian through and through. We currently live in Altona in
the Western suburbs of Melbourne.
We always imagined that Australia was at the cutting edge of sustainable living but were surprised and a little bit alarmed
to find this is not really the case.
We both love the outdoors and would love to have more time to live the simple life, unfortunately nobody is going
to pay us to live a life of leisure. When we finish our straw bale house we hope to have more options...

Colin presently works for Ford Motor Company in product development. He is a project engineer
working on airbags. His interests comprise sport including cricket and croquet, birds,
web-design and photography. We are both members of the Western Bulldogs Football Club.

Alex is a Project Manager in the construction industry. Since arriving in Australia she has worked
on some interesting projects including the Australian Wildlife Centre at Healesville Sanctuary.
She enjoys sewing, gardening, yoga and has recently taken up running.

Amber is a spaniel-poodle cross also known as a Spoodle. Her favourite thing is love and
affection from friends and strangers alike. She certainly holds the upper hand in the canine section of our family
and likes nothing more than curling up on the sofa with the "top-dogs" Colin and Alex!

Archie, who is Amber's littermate is mostly a far more laid back character except when the scent of rabbits
is in the air. He had a scare in 2006 when he got tetanus after getting a grass seed under his skin. He was lucky to survive
and since then has been living each day as though it is his last!
