so this section is broken up into several sections. Click on the links below for more detail...

THE LAND AS WE FOUND IT
Our block consists of 74 acres of pristine Box Ironbark / Low Rises Grassy Woodland bordered on the South and West side
by State Forest, pasture on the East and a dirt road along the frontage.
It is located at Dunach between the towns of Talbot and Clunes approximately 150km west of Melbourne.
It lies at the foot of the volcanically-formed
Mount Glasgow and is very close to the environmentally-significant
Merin Merin Swamp.
The local area is very much part of the central goldfields in Victoria and our land has at least four recorded
shallow diggings on the Mount Glasgow Reef. In fact there are many small pits and piles of displaced earth all over the land.
Heritage.vic.gov.au reveals that digging
began in the Mount Glasgow area in 1859.
Wildlife is prolific on our block and in the local area. We are home to a small flock of White-browed Babblers
which are at the extreme edge of their range and there are many other woodland species of birds. In terms of mammals
there are Kangaroos, Echidna, Possums and Tuans. There are also koalas in the area although we have only found
the remains of a dead one so far.
